For the second year in a row, NEC travelled to Rankin Inlet to represent our partner organization Kivalliq Alternative Energy (KAE), at the Kivalliq Trade Show, which took place September 25-27, 2023, at the Agnico Eagle Mines Limited Arena.

The annual trade show promotes the responsible development of the diverse economic sectors in the Kivalliq Region of Nunavut and the development of a sustainable economy for the Kivalliqmiut.

KAE was honoured to host a booth at the 2023 trade show, where we handed out new KAE merch and chatted with community members about the vast potential of renewable energy solutions in this region.

Events such as the Kivalliq Trade show are essential opportunities for KAE to seek feedback from community members on our clean energy initiatives. This year, we launched a survey for Rankin Inlet and Baker Lake residents to gather input on the clean energy needs of each community.

The survey closes on December 11, 2023. We invite all Baker Lake and Rankin Inlet Residents to share their thoughts before the deadline. Survey participants will be entered into a prize draw to win a renewable energy cabin kit!

The survey is available in both English and Inuktitut:
